I was thinking this last night. the cop shot was it 3 to 4 shots. it was said he took out a vehicles window. why didn't he shoot the tires? how many were in the car?

It has been years since the training but if I remember correctly, in a crowded situation you don't want to shoot at the tires because you have no clue where a ricochet will go in the event you miss. In this situation I believe the idea take aim at the more likely achievable target which would be the vehicle itself and not the tires. Sort of like why you are taught to shoot center mass rather than try to take out a leg or arm.
