the one thing that gives me the red arse about lee is that he stares down the primary reciever like an eagle. even on dump passes to the rb. thats why that play never works. keiland should have been laid out but the defender just whiffed a perfectly good tackling opportunity. this guy has a good accurate arm for the most part but his bad habit is really effecting the passing game. thoughts?

agreed, but its just something that time and experience will fix. we just have to hope it doesn't cost us a game during his growing process.

More experience in games can be the only cure. JRock did this but his arm strength always made it void. Flynn would do it too.

Actually the couple times he threw the flare pass to the RB in the MSU game he did NOT stare down the RB...he looked first at the WR running the down and out (who eventually became a blocker)...watch the replay.

Yes, as a RS freshman...he is taught to get the ball to the main target, who is always a playmaker on this team. JR did the same thing early on in his career which is why he lost his job back to Randall after the florida game.

We have to live with the fact that Lee is growing into the job and will see the field better as he matures. But he has one of the best and most accurate arms we have ever seen at LSU...not to mention the quickest release of ANY LSU quarterback EVER...not even close.

I agree with ya, but he is young and that will come with time. It still amazes me that he has only been playing ball since his Jr year in High school.

dude is a freshman, this should be a rebuilding yr for the LSU offense, IMO he is doing a great job

the dump pass is supposed to be a suprise play after checking the wideouts after the snap. he takes the ball, immediately looks over to keiland and throws a touch pass. absolutely disgusting.

5th year senior matt flynn did it too. If anything you should give a little slack to the RS frosh.

He also throws of of his back foot. He doesn't step into his passes. This is fine if he has a strong arm. But I think he would be more accurate with better mechanics.

I'm pleased so far though. He's doing a fine job.

We're 4-0!!!

I honestly don't think its something that will be fixed this year. It happens to all QBs. He also has really bad mechanics and happy feet for no reason a lot, making his passes very inaccurate.

The best way, IMO, to disguise it against Florida, is they need to work a way to fool the Florida defense. A simple example is, have Lee look down field then quickly flip it to a RB out of the backfield or a fake screen pass, then turns his head downfield for the deep ball. Simple stuff like this can really catch Florida offguard bigtime I believe if they do it early in the game. I think Florida is going to come out, blitz their asses off and play a lot of underneath coverage reading the QB eyes. I'm sure Crowton will come up with something creative to disguise his QB weaknesses.

That same complaint has been made at some point against every QB at LSU in the last 8-9 years, Davy, Mauck, Flynn, Lee. He is a redshirt freshman, with 4 college games, and 1 start. Give the kid a break.

This is one of the most "inaccurate" statements I've ever seen on this board.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with his mechanics and, if he had "happy feet", he would have never completed that TD to Mitchell in the Auburn game.

You do realized he's the second most efficient passer in the SEC, just behind Tebow.

Good Lord! I swear some people on this board need to get a grip. If you told me 6 weeks ago that we would be 4-0 and ranked #2 in the country with our first win at AU in 10 years it be ecstatic. JL is going to have his bumps in the road, but WE WON AT AUBURN!!! Anyone who isn't happy with the way JL has exceeded expectations needs to start some Paxil before they watch anymore games.
