There are some legitimate real concerns about Aranda leading a program like LSU that this board just completely ignores.

And yet Napier with his whopping zero connections to LSU is the only one that ever gets "one of us"

Look, I don't dislike Dave, but his recruiting is a serious question mark and he's by far the favorite for the USC job. There is no way that Woodward is going to get into a bidding war over his fallback candidate at this point in the process. Especially when it's not even clear that Aranda is actually higher than Napier on his internal list. Our next coach is either Lincoln Riley or Billy Napier depending on what Riley decides. Sorry to all the Napier haters because Riley probably isn't going to make it to the finish line.

Napier is basically Jimbo-lite (really a recruiting-CEO guy who demands to run his shitty offense).

No disagreement that Napier's strengths as a coach is recruiting and program management, but I really don't see any evidence that he forces his offense on people. He runs a classic spread and likes having length at WR for red zone passing. I don't see how that's particularly limiting or even why it's offensive. He seems more invested into that than he really is because he kind of did the high school football thing of "make your best player the QB" which makes sense when you're at ULL and will never get a blue chip recruit. I also really don't understand why we're worried about offense in general. I'm much more worried about having a good defense than whether or not Louisiana will continue to produce NFL WRs that make any remotely decent scheme look like the work of a god.
