I know I'll get roasted for this....

but I sure do miss Saban's schemes on defense. At least when the running back was burning the D in 03, the QB was paying for it and being blitzed.
Hell, we only rushed 4 men and still got beat by a RB multiple times. A Rb who was second string to Steven Korte at Fontainebleau, may I remind you.
Anything BDP touches seems to turn to crap.
to the defense. They better learn to use more complicated blitz schemes instead of playing cover 2 man all day for many reasons:
1. Stafford and Tebow will now be playing with their backs against the wall. We will see their best efforts. They will fricking destroy our defense if we only rush 4 and use #44 in NB coverage.
2. Smelley/Spurrier will scheme and destroy us.
3. Snead is a damn good QB and will destroy us.
4. Do I need to even mention what Bama will do to us if the defense isn't corrected?
That's potentially 5 losses. Mallory/BDP better stop playing so soft.
ETA: WE do have the talent to be a top flight defense in the SEC this year. IT will take some better scheming and some LBers to step up. Also, 44 better get to improving quickly.

Just stating my observations which are entirely correct so far about the defense. Auburn only put up 3 pts against MSU and 14 pts agaisnt Tenn. Tenn and MSU SUuuuuuucccckkkk.
We haven't played one team yet that has a respectable offense. We let a walk on 5-11 180 lb QB rip us a new one on our own field.

I get the idea that wasting our blitz packages against scrubs like Moo State, North Texas and Appalachian State so that Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina could see them was exactly the thing BDP AND Mallory aren't trying to do.

NO. We will have 4 or 5 losses if the defensive scheme and play stays the way it has been all year so far.
If it changes and we start to blitz more and stop blowing LB coverages, then we'll lose 2 or 3, which will be a GREAT season.
I'm not going to pull for Bama. Although, this year they're clearly the better team.
