Hiring Napier might just be the straw that breaks the Camels back for many LSU fans. I could see a mass exodus of fans if that’s “the guy”. I mean, why be a fan of a program that’s obviously not even trying anymore?

I love his recruiting and building the program but I just don’t know about his coaching on the field.

That’s kind of the point though. LSU would have just come off hiring a doofus of a coach just to hire a sunbelt coach.

He may very well be the next Saban or even better. But no top 5 program is hiring a coach from the Sun Belt to run their program.

You will be downvoted to hell, but you are right. In the immediate aftermath of a Napier hire, the program would take a significant hit on many levels. Here though, these Napier simps will hear none of that. It is actually very Louisiana that we may end up with him. And yes, I know he is not from here, but he has been here long enough to learn how to play the game. It will be a deflating hire celebrated by the baws and rationalized by the desperate. Hopefully, that is not where we end up.

Exactly my point. I’m not saying he’d be a guaranteed failure at LSU. I’m just pointing out that no other top 5 program would hire him as head coach right now. Especially after making an extremely lackluster hire previously.

False. This board overwhelmingly wants a coach with head coaching experience in a power 5 conference.
You see anyone asking for Venables to be hired? No you don’t.
The closest you got to it is Aranda and the ONLY reason people are ok with him being considered is because he was already a coach here and did well and appears to be doing well at Baylor
