That was the barrel ride. It was similar to the Gravitron ride at the state fair except riders could move all over the place.

Yep, 1974ish - Mom's Oldsmobile 98 broke down in Russellville and it took us an extra day to get there. I remember you could catch trout in a fake stream and they would fry it up for you.

When I would go visit my grandparents in Shreveport during the summer, they would take me. All I remember is being forced to eat a raw chicken leg by my grandma, my older sister intervened for me for the first and only time in my life, my grandma STILL insisted, and then was saved when a mouse scurried across a ledge of the booths. I was 5. That’s my memory of DogPatch USA. It would have been 1977.
