All I remember is that he was highly recommended to Emmert by some NFL GM - I think he was GM of the Colts. It looks like the dude was right.

Joe Dean asked Tex Schram, retired Dallas Cowboys GM, and he recommended Saban. Dean had a lot of contacts through his former work for Converse.
