Stay away from lifting and take Advil for a week or two. Do the drawing and pulling machine excercises like the “swinging gate” with your arm and elbow tucked in or see a physical therapist. I would not go leaping to a surgical option if this is the first time your shoulder has been incapacitated and an X-ray shows a bone spur. The bone spur may be impinging on the bursa of one of the tendons in your shoulder muscle and with physical therapy and the right exercises you might not need surgery.

See that's what I'm thinking. I've had the same feeling in my right shoulder which was bersitis. Same with my hip. It feels like my left shoulder has it but then at the same time there is a grinding when I rotate from the bone spur. I took a month off bc i got tendenitis in my right wrist which went away. But yeah going to try and lay off lifting that upsets it.
