.....If LSU had Colt McCoy...

When RP backed out of his signing with LSU, Colt signed with Texas. Many at the time claimed that Colt was otherwise Baton Rouge bound.
He would be in his 3rd year on campus, and would have had experience with the 2007 team since he would have played the times RP played last year.
JLee may very well be on pathway to greatness, and has an NFL arm for sure. I am happy we have JLee. I just can't help but wonder how we would have fared with Colt in Purple and Gold. That dude is a gamer and a winner. Imagine him in our offense.

I guarantee you that Colt was in no way, shape, or form going to attend LSU.
You're talking about a kid whose father put a cannister of Texas dirt under the mother's hospital bed when he was born so he could "be born over texas soil." (they were stationed in NM at the time for a couple of months)

Moustache, he actually was a commit if I remember correctly, and UT didn't offer him. They had Perrilloux and were solely focused on him. Once Perrilloux committed to LSU, he decommitted because UT offered scrambling to find a QB (he was their back up plan).
Still, I don't think he'd have developed as well here as he has at UT given he wouldn't have played until last season and only sparingly. He's not the runner that Perrilloux was and so he likely wouldn't have been running Ryan's plays.
McCoy developed because he had time to play and develop over 2 years for full seasons now against pretty crappy passing defenses in the Big 12.

He would be at LSU if Ryan P. went to Texas. Texas was running short on scholly's by the time Colt committed, they didn't have room to take another QB in January. If Ryan P stopped looking at LSU that winter and stayed a Horn, Colt would be a Tiger right now.

I agree with this.

which makes him overrated
and he peaked (as of now) as a freshman

you honestly think that we'd see colt mccoy running up the middle?
he's a pussy. it would never happen

he choked down the stretch in 2006 after UT had beaten OU. they had teh big12 title and lost it
in 2007 he was mediocre and chocked in a couple of games they lose. hell they fricking sucked early against UCF and Arky State

How so? RP didn't commit to LSU until signing day. Prior to that he was strong verbal commit to Texas. Granted he was more luke warm just before signing day. McCoy was verbally comitted to Texas prior to signing day. I'm no Texas fan but looking back on that it really shows RP's true colors. It was a flashing red flag to anyone paying attention there were integrity issues with RP.

he got hurt that year and was playing injured. McCoy is a good college QB. Anyone that can't admit that either doesn't know what they are talking about or they are lying to themselves. Which category do you fall into?

yeah he's a pussy. i already said that

he puts up stats for the #1 or #2 most talented team in a conference that doesn't play pass defense and has no team overall close to the talent level of his team (or OU)

As is often the case, you are talking out your arse. He got beat up a couple of times in his 2o somthing starts, but he is not a pussy. He is a very sound and all-round QB, who is a pretty decent runner also. Check his game on ABC right now. You are wrong about Colt. No, he would not have run the same plays as RP, who was not allowed to throw the ball, but he would have came off the bench and into the game the same times as RP, and maybe more frequently, since he had a similar style to Flynn than RP did.

A) Colt was always going to Texas!
B) Texas went after Chase Daniels last minute and he stuck it to them!
C) Jevon Snead is pretty sick...

he's not a horrible runner, but he's not close to a good runner
he gets 1 of those runs every year

you're the one who called him a winner

if he didn't bring something different to the table, then why would he get off the bench?

i meant to point this out
people are confusing snead with mccoy
yes, the rant had a lot of discussion about mccoy going to LSU since RP was going to UT (i tried to tell them he wasn't committed to UT, but that's in teh past)
but at the last minute they DID go after daniel. daniel wanted to go, but honored his commitment to Um

You are big time wrong. You are stating an opinion. The fact is that Colt was definately a Tiger until RP played his stunt to get publicity. Colt wanted to go to Texas, but they in no way were going to give him a scholarship that year if they kept RP.
The truth of the matter is that RP determined Colt's fate by his decision.

Because he was capable of doing what RP did, and that is play in junk time and against cupcakes. He could have also been a good fit when Flynn got hurt.

We might not be the defending National Champions. After watching McCoy last year, I don't know if we win the SEC title game. RP did.

why did they try to recruit daniel after they had mccoy committed? they were signing 2 QBs
