Its not hyperbole. The people that go to Superior every weekend are the same group of old boomers and people from Haughton.

You actually do know people that frequent these places.

You live in Shreveport, more than a year, and know not 1 soul who goes to Superior or the Casinos?
Jesus man, if youre going to lie, make it believable.

I recently spent nearly a decade living in Shreveport. We lived in the Springlake/Pierremont area. It’s right in the middle of the nicest bubble in Shreveport.
Our kid’s schools, friends, family, jobs, shopping, and restaurants were all within a 5-10 minute drive, and traffic was a breeze in Shreveport except certain parts around Youree.
The neighborhoods in the Ellerbe area are a little further, but they are still in the bubble.
You’re never completely isolated from some of the bad elements in Shreveport. The city is in a downward spiral. Crime, blight, and ghetto is common across large areas of the city. Once respectable and thriving areas are now lost.
However, we rarely encountered this in our normal daily routines. It was easy to forget or ignore the bad elements. That area has nice neighborhoods, tree lined streets, some rolling hills, really good public and private schools, and nice restaurants. We enjoyed our time and the people there.

is this where you pretend that you weren't talking about people that go out to Superiors "every weekend"?
going to lunch or dinner occasionally (like once a year) isn't "going out" to Superiors
I can't believe I'm arguing with a guy that hasn't lived here since the 90s about current Shreveport nightlife, but here we are

Everything I love about Shreveport is for the same reason I love BR, NOLA, Jasckson, Memphis, BHam etc… quit being a fricking baby. SPort is a shithole.

yep. Compared to the 70's or 80's, its disgusting. Just one more kid for me to get out of there. She's got her own house, so its sticky.

Fat Calf Brasserie is an absolute gem. There are a number of other great restaurants as well.
As for the rest of the city, well, let's just say they need to mow what's left of the shoulders on the roads and consider the grafitti local artwork.

Or you could just admit it was stupid hyperbole like you and I both know.
But you won't.

The Freeway is Shreveports only redeeming quality. It lets people escape.

the age old debate. Shreveport has much better infrastructure than anywhere in the state not named Nola. It is basically Baton Rouge without LSU. Both have bad crime, both have nice parts. You'll get much better Mexican food in Shreveport than BR or New Orleans, but lacking in other areas. Its a city where you can live in the woods and hunt out behind your house and be to your office downtown in 15/20 minutes.

Well, I don't venture to Shreveport very often. But I am from Bossier and currently live in Benton. If you're wanting to raise a family, there's not too many better places than Bossier Parish, particularly Benton.

Shreveport is worse. You cannot escape it. There's no oasis.
Last time I was there I returned a cable box for my mom (she escaped to Arkansas) and got hounded by a mob in the parking lot for denting someone's vehicle, which of course was bogus. Some hood rats looking for a freebie. I literally left the parking lot with this mob screaming and yelling.
Only Los Angeles is dirtier.
