Urban is my choice

I don’t post much here. I mostly lurk…and judge. But I’ve read all the threads on the coaching search.
Yes, Urban has baggage. Yes, it’s a long shot. But past performance at the college level, in my opinion, leaves no doubt that he would be the most successful hire.
I understand that the Puritans will clamor about “optics”, and that is a real thing. But so far as results on the field, including recruiting, I think he is the one. And I believe because the facade of his impurity has been ripped away, he’d stay in line.

I like Urban, but I don't want the BS that comes with him. 2-3 yrs and the health issues.. I want the next coach to be here for at least 5yrs.

I would rather win a natty or two if it means finding a new coach in 3-5 years.

The whole sec doesn't want to see urban at lsu. Except lsu fans, I think he would kill to get out of Jacksonville and come here

Les Miles burned me out on that mindset. I’d take Urban in a heartbeat, we need the credibility he’d bring and we have the best AD in the country to get a Ryan Day after he’d inevitably burn out. I would shite with excitement if we got Urban

Do I think Urban coming here is probable? No. Is he the guy I want because Saban coming here is impossible, yes.
Like I said in the OP. He’s the best candidate IMO. I don’t claim to be an expert and I have no “sauces”. And if I did I certainly wouldn’t be posting their info here.
None of us know what’s gonna happen, but I enjoy coming here and seeing the back and forth. If anyone here had real sources who were in the know, they shouldn’t post here. But I’m of the firm belief that no one knows. But I just gave my opinion. Not my forecast.

Well my only problem is this talent evaluation, if you have a son a.k.a. ‘joeburrow’ competing against eye candy quarterback/s he may choose the sweets and not the JoeyB, I appreciate him eating the candy for sure 2019, but credit is due with Tim Tebow. Just sayin 50/50

And there is no doubt that Urban is a negative recruiter...I took that into consideration. I especially remember how low he went with Patrick Peterson. I’ll take it anyway. And after his latest episode with the little grinder, I’ll just say this. There is no one more dogmatic than the newly converted. Meaning I’m sure Ms. Meyer put a boot in his backend and he’s got a lot to prove on the “good person” front.
