MSNBC - Glenn Youngkin’s victory proves white ignorance is a powerful weapon

quote:
Youngkin, who received Donald Trump’s endorsement in May, led a largely ill-defined campaign, often hewing close to the former president’s 2020 election lies while also coyly trying to distance himself from them.
Similar to Trump, Youngkin is a businessman with no political experience whose campaign focused on hot-button social topics — like outrage over school curricula — rather than substantive policy discussions.
quote:
Ultimately, his campaign settled on a game plan that seemed to resonate deeply with white voters in Virginia: targeting school lesson plans that address inequality and social justice.
Youngkin adopted the conservative strategy of falsely grouping these lesson plans under the label of “critical race theory,” and he promised to ban such teachings “on day one” if elected.
Critical race theory is a college-level field of study that’s not taught in Virginia K-12 schools, but it’s become a catchall phrase for intellectually lazy people — many of them white — who want to stigmatize any discussion about American racism.
quote:
In the final weeks of his campaign, Youngkin focused almost exclusively on attacking lesson plans about inequality. He hosted multiple “Parents Matter” rallies, where attendees could gather to express outrage over school curricula.
quote:
But Youngkin managed to endear himself to voters — some of them in liberal enclaves — with a platform designed to shield Americans from the reality of the country’s racist history.

The writer of that tripe is a racist of the highest order for defending CRT even though it doesn't exist.

Keep insulting the silent majority and see how well it works out for you.
What were Joe's "substantive policy discussions?"

Not the real problem with CRT. Labeling one race permanent 'oppressors' and another race permanent 'victims' is the real problem.

Racist comment.

Guess what? Parents DO matter and should have input on what their children are being taught.

Americans are aware of the history.

One thing I noticed that they are not taking about, is all the covid facism and mandates they are shoving down our throats. People hate Democrats right now.

I was going to start this thread. I have to give CNN credit. They have a huge banner "Democrats misjudged the mood" and other headlines about how the Dems are in panic. MSNBC is in full denial.

It’s good that they don’t get it. They can double down on their own foolish delusions.

It's not journalism, it's propaganda.
NBC ignored their own polling, and resorted to their racist dog whistling

Living in bubbles yet again. If it proves anything, it's that wacky leftist ideas like critical race theory have no business in the United States, period.

It's literally their entire platform at this point.
What this article, Democrats, and the media refuse to acknowledge, of course, is that all of these racist GOP voters in Virginia that were energized by "white identity politics" also elected a Latino as their new AG, and a black woman as their Lt. Governor.

CNN is center-left
MSNBC is moderate-left
Has anybody checked on Mother Jones or the Jacobin?

Apparently half the population being told they're racist simply because they're white doesn't sit well with said people. Imagine that. Yeah, so much easier to just chalk it up to white ignorance, whatever the frick that is.
MSNBC mental gymnastics are impressive though. Especially considering the willful ignorance towards the Hispanic voting pattern. The pearl clutching that's about to happen when Youngkin outlaws the teaching of CRT concepts in classrooms is going to be epic.

That’s how the CRT situation is accurately described. A theory that has been in place in law schools for decades with virtually no controversy has only recently made its way into the mainstream to gaslight people in hopes they are riled up for elections. Who do you think is responsible for that?
