Couple of things.
There are no Digital Antennas. All antennas are essentially the same. So don't worry about the 'digital' moniker.
Secondly, make SURE your antenna accepts VHF and UHF. Many are UHF only. In BTR, BRZ and AFB are still VHF. AFB is Channel 9 and BRZ is Channel 13 (really). So if your antenna is UHF only, that would explain what you described.
Digital signals today are unlike analog. They are there, or they are not. Your job is to put the antenna where they can grab the most signal.
Outside antennas are the best, aimed at the BTR transmitters. (Those towers are clustered along the Mississippi River near Brusly and Plaquemine.
If you must go with an indoor antenna, put it in a window on the side of the house facing the Brusly area.
