I will say this, if he isn’t back until December that is 100% on the organization. It means one of two things:

1. The organization has lied every step of the way and his injury is not what they reported.

2. The organization is slow playing his rehab to a maliciously slow pace, which they have already done in 2019.

It can only be one of those two things. I can’t understand why the organization has decided to mislead the fans about this. All it has done has caused public opinion of Zion to crater because of most people’s desire to fill in the blanks without understanding rehabs. We know Zion has been out of the boot since at least September 27th. That means that he is 4 full weeks of full weight bearing. He has now been cleared for on court work for 2 weeks. He should be cleared for full contact within the next five days. That means 2-3 week ramp up and he should be back on the floor. He will be rehabbing 6-8 hours daily between workouts and treatment. If we don’t see him until December just know that Griff is lying about a setback with his healing or Nelson and company have decided to slow play it again.

Or....

3.) His body is not responding because he's too fat.

Fractures of the fifth metatarsal injuries can occur in a variety of ways and in multiple spots along the bone. Avulsion fractures of the bone happen when one of the attached muscles pulls away a fragment of the metatarsal. Stress fractures in the fifth metatarsal are possible and often involved the diaphysis or mid-shaft of the bone. A fifth metatarsal fracture can be classified as a Jones fracture if the bone breaks at or near the base of the bone. Jones fractures are often slow to heal as the blood supplied to the area is limited. As a result, Jones fractures often require surgical intervention to help reduce the chances of a delayed union or nonunion.

Recovery following surgery can occur in six-to-eight weeks though an 8-to-10-week window is likely a safer estimate.

In 2009 while leading the well-respected Suns medical team, Nelson and his team worked Robin Lopez back from surgery to fix a fifth metatarsal fracture in just 52 days. Lopez never exhibited any associated setbacks or complications. The variables in the two cases may vary but Williamson is in proven hands.

Internet detectives figured out that the injury had to happen sometime between July 10 and July 31. Zion was already walking around without a boot by mid August.

Even if we take the July 31 date, we're already well past the more conservative 8-10 week window, when guys are already on the court playing games. Zion isn't even running yet.
