That's because most of them are still Democrats, at heart. They read the tea leaves, the omens, the portents and know that "Democrat" is more-or-less a losing brand in Louisiana at election time. They KNOW the most Louisianians are moderately conservative on many issues, enough that the national "Democrat" agenda is harmful to them in state electoral politics.

So most of them have made the jump, but not happily. I mean gimme a break, John Alario, a Republican???
