Maybe it’s because while playing a much stronger schedule Campbells teams produce a much better offensive and defensive in the national ranking. Having the 3rd ranked D at this point of the season is a fairly significant positive comparison. Coaching a team to a win over a top 10 team is also a pretty good plus as far as comparisons are concerned.
I know some people don’t care about the competition a coach has to play, but I’m not one of those people.
