Worst away game experience I have ever had was at Oxford acouple years ago...

We were watching at the round table in the square. The second we lost all hell broke loose. Everyone surrounding our group threw beer on us. The bartenders refused to serve us. We had been buying beers all day and during the game but the second we lost they started charging $20 a beer and something like $50 a shot. Those were the prices for anyone in purple.

Trashy place. I'll never go back.

So Ole Miss won and they were throwing beer on you?

I don't believe that.

The female talent in Oxford is worth any shenanigans one has to endure with an LSU loss.

Oh come the frick on

UPD is more of a problem than OPD though. Heads up, Tiger fans.

I've been to Ole Miss countless times. I don't believe any of that

The only "rules" they have is keep everything in a solo cup. And the only thing bars do is jack up the cover charges as the night goes on. But that applies to everyone, not just away fans.

Just so we are clear, you're saying the moment the game was over, dozens of Rebels threw beer at you and your friends in the middle of the Round Table bar?

Which Round Table bar are you talking about? They have several. I really want to know.

My daughter goes to school there and Ole Miss people are very friendly and welcoming at the Grove. There’s LSU people at every tent. Not sure why that happened to you. Maybe it was just an isolated event with your group for some reason

Several years ago, my husband and I went to the OM game where we beat them soundly. I was invited by my Ole Miss cousin to her cousin's tailgate after the game. Her cousin was a former Reb and played in the NFL. As we walked into his tent, a drunk OM student and his drunk OM date begin cursing me (I'm old enough to be his Mother), and telling me to get my arse out of the tent and why was I there; I wasn't welcome, etc. I'd never been treated that rudely. I told him that I was related to the host and I'd just go get him to explain that I was invited. He shut up quick and stumbled away quietly. The Grove is so overrated, it's ridiculous. We were told to squat behind a food table to pour ourselves a drink or the cops would stop us. Your ice chests better be locked before you leave for the game or the cops pour everything out. Everybody's tents are on top of each other. Horrible.

bullshite. Ole Miss people have been nothing but nice to me, and I've made that trip almost every time since 2011.

I find that there is a lot about Oxford that is fake. The southern hospitality shtick is just that, a shtick in an attempt to be charming. The people there have this pseudo elitist thing going on as though it’s a social class above when meanwhile if you break it down, you’re talking about a bunch of middle class people in rural Mississippi.

And the whole “Ole Miss is a football power” thing is fake as well.

This is why we throw piss balloons at them. I normally drink some asparagus juice beforehand to make the piss especially fragrant.

Obviously many here have never been to a game there. Every school has a percentage of idiot fans. i’m looking forward to tomorrow but if your LSU seats are in the section near the student section you are going to get pelted with ice, drinks, bottles, etc. Last game there they had to get security to come stand between the sections to stop it. It’s drunk students not the majority of fans. I still have a good time there. It’s a nice little town.
