This is most likely his last season with Russell Wilson, meaning an uncertain competitive future for the Seahawks.

Although he is 70, he's a young/spry 70, with the energy to recruit/teach/develop. He also needs one more year in college to be eligible for the CFB HOF.

While USC would seems to be the obvious play, should he decide to return to college, it'd be less of a rebuild at LSU.

Sure, it's a longshot, but this is the CC Board, where dreams come to die.

He's like 100 years old.

This coach should be here for the next 10-15 years.

Carroll is the reason USC withdrew most of the decision making from the position going forward.

Woodward would not gel with Pete in a employer/employee relationship.

Just imagine the Carroll-Kiffin/Carroll-Saban battles.

It'd be must-see-tv.

Would be an awful hire. Dude shite all over his current employer in USC and basically middle fingered them in hopes NCAA would death penalty them. Not to mention he's O's mentor and I want nothing to do with that. Dude probably taught O how to be useless on the sidelines and rah rah everyday. Pete loves sitting on the sidelines bent over chewing gum all game doing nothing. O likes to stand on the sidelines clapping his hands with his mic up. Probably got the idea from him.

Pete Carroll’s “wisdom” is part of the reason we’re in this mess

Dude won a national title* and a Super Bowl.

He's not just a rah-rah CEO. He's proven he gets the most out of his coaches & players.

He's not going to be interested and might be too old if he was.

It would be fascinating if things were different but...

I disagree. He had some really good DCs there that really carried his teams through those SB wins. Hard to say though as we know he's defensive minded himself so he probably had a lot of contribution there at least. He has made a lot of boneheaded decisions like when they lost the SB. It's very debatable at the very least when you look how he managed Seattle his first few years there and his last few too. I think he's overrated and that extends back to college where all but 1 season his USC teams vastly underachieved.
