What he means is, black Americans are more likely to band together for a black person to be in charge with merit being an afterthought. They tend to care more about agreeing with each other above all else. For example, 84-87% of black voters vote democrat. Whereas whites, it's been historically about equal, only recently has trended more towards republican (about 60/40). A greater percentage of whites voted for Obama than any percentage of blacks voting for any republican candidate ever. There's more diversity of thought, historically, in the white community. Doesn't make them better or worse, this is just what the poster was trying to say.

No one hired Saban because he was white. At no point did the AD say "we need a white guy." You'd have flipped out, but somehow it's OK for the president to blatantly push for a black guy in an overwhelmingly black dominated locker room. You're assuming that since most coaches have been white, that color of skin has been a factor. Correlation does not equal causation. That's something that CRT / BLM / leftists have yet to figure out.

Plenty of black coaches have been given chances. Some succeed and they stay. Some fail and don't. The 2 front runners are head coaches at major universities already. Where's the racism there?

Your problem is that you assume if we don't want a "diversity hire" we're racist. Wrong. James Franklin is at the top of most guy's lists (he's number 2 behind Fickell for me). After that, there are more qualified white coaches before we get to Mel Tucker. Hiring him would be a blatant racist move, and people who advocate for it would be becoming the very enemy they THINK they're fighting against.

If race trumps merit, maybe we should hire Tucker, then free up some roster spots for white people. It's about 85% black, our coaching staff has 4 black coaches, our president is black, which doesn't scream diversity to me.

TL;DR we want the best guy for the job. There are about 10 guys above Mel Tucker, several of whom are white, that if Tate passes up, makes him a total racist douche.
