Thanks Scuba. Looks like Lansville had a tough day but how was his stuff?

Unless I missed it, Crews has not batted yet in any of the scrimmages? Have read he has an injury but any info as to what it is?

Shoulder. He ran into the wall during summer ball. I assume they are just being cautious with him.

Fowler has really struggled
The stuff doesn’t seem bad

Reyzelman looked good again. I thought Money had another good outing as well. I can still see Money as our closer.

The defensive play of the day came from Hellmers. Drost hit a line drive right at him with velocity. Hellmers caught it matrix style and then threw out the runner who left second base.

I've been sitting behind the first base dugout to help my failing vision so I can't see the pitches as well as when I sit behind the plate. With no pitch speed displayed, I have trouble telling what the pitches are ie fastball, slider, etc. Once I learn to recognize most of the players without seeing their numbers, I may move back behind the plate.

Lansville had a very good 1st inning. Curveball looked great and was spotting it up, I want to say he had 2 or 3 K’s his first inning, just lost his stuff a bit in his 2nd inning.

I guess most of the purple team must have partied a little too much after the game

Who do you think has the upper hand between Gervase and Money so far for the closer role?

I would say Gervase.

Obviously Fontenot could still factor there and I think Edwards could as well. Money has been a little more consistent than Gervase. Gervase has more experience in that role from JUCO but I'm not a big fan of a closer given up free bases.
I could also see Money bringing that attitude and energy that could make him effective in that role. This is just me throwing thoughts around, Johnson might not even be considering him in that role.
