Well certainly Celsius doesn’t have the temperature restriction of 85 F that herbicides containing 2,4D have such as Trimec or Weed Free Zone, plus Celsius controls certain broadleaf weeds (Doveweed comes to mind) and grassy weeds that the Trimec type herbicides don’t control. The 2,4D in Trimecs can/will damage the lawn grass at 85 F +, the Celsius will not.

Basically Celsius can control about any weed that Trimec herbicides can plus a bunch more. Now I think Trimec types herbicides and Atrazine have higher efficacy at colder temperatures than Celsius so you can continue to use Trimec’s during the winter

Of course the upfront price of Celsius is much higher than Weed Free Zone, and I’ve not taken the time to calculate the cost per application per 1000 sq ft. But off the top of my head I don’t think there is much difference in over all cost per 1000 sq ft. I’m going on year 5 of my bottle of $100 Celsius and when I was using only Weed Free Zone I was buying 1 or 2 $25 bottles annually.
