Shoulder Pain

I'm having pain in one of my shoulders. I seem to have full range of motion but when under any load, even holding my 1 year old, I feel some discomfort. Definitely can't do any type of bench/OHP.
Has anyone experienced similar? How did you resolve it? Been out of the gym for about a week and starting to get antsy.

I started having severe shoulder pain and weakness in February. I put it off getting checked until first of June. I have been in PT ever since. I have a pinched nerve in my neck, the pain and weakness radiates to my shoulder. PT has helped but I recently purchased a neck traction device from Amazon. This traction device has helped my pain more in 2 weeks than anything the PT has done in 2 months. I’m so ready to get back in the gym! This is the traction machine purchased.

Where? Front, top, back?

Mainly front and sometimes I feel it in the top. Haven’t really felt any pain in the back.

I’ve posted it before. I had a soreness in the front part of the socket that I kept putting off. I finally got it check and it was a torn bicep and a spur. I had surgery in February and I’m just getting back in the grove of working out again. Get yourself check out. If it’s serious get it fixed. If it’s nothing, no problem

Made an appt for Friday AM. It's been 3 weeks since I've been out of the gym and don't want to waste more time.

Sounds like it could be biceps tendinitis?

Really weird, honestly. I can move with little to no pain - but as soon as I push or anything that causes muscles to tense/load up I get pain.

Keep us updated. I’ve had shoulder pain in both shoulders for almost two years now. MRI’s negative. I got to Pt and chiropractor twice a week. Maybe it could be postural, but I’ve never experienced pain like this. Almost sounds rheumatoid cause it comes out of nowhere, but I’ve tried the rheumatoid prescriptions .

you should try tons of shoulder disloctes, band pull aparts, ring/trx "Y"s and face pulls. work up to super high volume.

Yeah, mine is a bit different - started after a hockey game where I went into the boards pretty hard. But, it really started feeling pretty good to where I was benching regularly with little to no discomfort. Did a bench day of 5x10, and a day or two later it flared up.

I've had shoulder pains most of my life. seen Orthopedic Surgeons had xrays mri's cortisone shots and been in and out of physical therapy over 10 times. Nothing helped long term. Then I tried Kratom. It was a life changer. no more pain.

MRI shows damage to the A/C joint and a non-displaced anterior inferior labral tear. I have no idea what that means - I get back with my ortho on Tuesday so can follow up.

Worst case scenario- shoulder arthroscopy, labral repair with a distal clavicle excision.
AC joint injury has several categories and depending on what type it’s diagnosed as dictates what the treatment will be either non surgical or surgical intervention. Labral tears can lead to shoulder dislocations.

The Impression doesn’t mention the A/C joint, for what that is worth. The A/C joint is mentioned in the notes as ‘mild hypertrophy’.

Met with Ortho. Based on the MRI, and the positions of my arm/shoulder when I experience pain, the 'tear' is not an issue and it probably just normal wear-and-tear for someone who played sports and has lifted weights. The A/C joint is the source of my pain. Got a cortisone shot today and was told give it a few days before getting back into the gym - I'll probably wait until Monday.
