and those damn pom poms? I enjoyed the eighties, but it is time to move on.

It seems like every time AU or bama have a big game, they break out those dumbass pom poms.
Hell, i'd prefer piped in music if I had a choice.

Tradition. They will always be around whether or not they annoy visiting fans. And it is not from the 80's. They go back to at least the 60's except they were wooden back then.

Bama probably copied us as they do in most things.

No, Bama probably pushed us to win more to compete with them which is good. But whatever they call it when their players walk to the game was copied from us and I believe pom poms (or shakers as we refer to them) were at AU before Bama also.

What was with the Bon Jovi song? That had to be an all time cultural low.

Tony Franklin may indeed be "living on a prayer".

I always chuckle when I see men waving pom poms.

That's nothing to be proud of.

They are "Pom Poms" not "shakers.

Grown men shaking a pom pom wildly in the air makes me want to puke.

You do realize that every team has to get to the stadium somehow...

And this involves walking...
