Having Trouble Parking at LSU?

Hi all, do you have trouble finding parking on campus? I've made a petition to draw attention to the problem of parking at LSU and if you would like to sign, it would be much appreciated. For residents, we pay $182 for a base residential parking pass and I see other people beside myself struggling to not only find a spot, but one that is a safe distance from their building. The alternative is to park somewhere where they'll ticket you and get more money out of you. I barely use my car because of this and so the pass doesn't feel worth the price. There needs to be more parking spaces allowed for each residential building and in a safe distance for the student. No one should have to walk a quarter of a mile or more to get to their car or apartment. If you could, please share this wherever you can (social media, friends, family), it would help this situation become noticed by the parking and transportation heads as well as the president of LSU.

I've been saying they should have built some parking structures rather than just a lot. Don't live there, but parking for games is an absolute shite show.

Yep! That's what a lot of people have been saying to me!

They put parking garage in the worst spot
And no one really uses it

I’d almost take the lack of parking for the amount of tailgating spots we have.
Other schools have a shite ton of parking, but barely any tailgating spots (near the stadium)
I like LSU’s setup

Similar problem when I was in law school. Pay for a parking spot specific to the law school parking lot and then show up for class without a single spot open.

FWIW
As an alumni I have watched LSU build out stupid stuff like an lsu pool and not pay attention to the parking issues….I read awhile back their opinion is to build out the inner part for living and academics and put parking out on edges with commuting option like the little tram buses they use to go from the airport parking to the terminals etc…
All good in theory but……
The commute to get from your apartment to the outer lsu parking…then waiting for a tram to get into campus…you students will get a PhD degree in waiting and commuting!
Do you want your daughter coming home late at night and being stuck in the outer lot waiting for a tram to get her to her dorm…..
Come on LSU… step up…. Tear down Kirby and put up a parking garage ….this is a problem and has been around for a while …solve it….
Btw …they will only solve it if they can make another buck off the students while doing it IMO….
Some colleges do not let freshmen have a car…ughhhh

Many years ago('80s or '90s), the students at UNO voted to increase parking fees. The extra funds were to be held in an account that would help pay for a parking garage on campus. Last I heard no knows where the money went.
There was an article in the UNO student newspaper if I recall correctly.

Gameday parking is not an issue if you get there before 10:30. those trying to park an hour and a half before kickoff are sol.

LSU got a lazy river, BRCC got a parking garage.
The people got what they wanted.

For an 8:00 game, F that. I'm past that point in my life lol. I don't mind going a few hours early, but 8 hours early? That's a big no from me.
