We're three weeks into the 2021 NFL season, and the growing struggles for the league's rookie quarterbacks have certainly headlined the play of this year's draft class overall in the early stages -- and impacted how a list of the best first-year performers looks to this point. The five first-round QBs have combined for a 1-9 record as starters with 10 passing TDs and 18 interceptions. And in our first rookie rankings of the season, just one quarterback made the cut for the top 10, and just four top-10 picks from April's draft are represented.

To build the list, we polled some personnel executives around the league and worked our way through the game tape. We also include who just missed the list and a few other names to keep handy in the coming weeks. Finally, we looked to ESPN Stats & Information's Seth Walder to name an under-the-radar rookie to keep an eye on and ESPN Chalk's Doug Kezirian to provide the best value bets for Rookie of the Year.

Paulson Adebo should be on this list.

He didn't even make the "just missed" or "keep an eye on" lists...

Has he not been horrible? Best of the bad rookie QBs doesn’t mean you’re one of the best rookie players. If it were a redraft that’s would a different story.

My strategy of getting 1st round LSU rookie WRs later in the draft continues to pay off

Have you looked at their skill position players lately?

I hate you and your ridiculous anti-LSU schtick. But I watched Mac against the Saints and was really impressed with his accuracy. He had a few drops and put balls in ridiculously perfect places, but their WRs couldn’t get any separation against the Saints defense. Which is gonna wind up being the best in the NFL btw fwiw. I don’t think he has the personality a QB needs to be as good as Joe, but his accuracy is gonna win him a lot of games and keep him in the league for a long time.

His ability to get separation on deep routes is arguably one of the best I’ve seen. 3 of his TDs this year he has absolutely toasted DBs one on one. Did it constantly at LSU in 19.

Rent free in your head.

Bateman hasn’t played because he’s injured. Do you really want to make that post now and give me the bumping material? You sure you want to give me that?

That means you just don't like Mac but have no legitimate criticisms.

No Jaycee Horn anywhere on the list

Only one of the top rated CBs in the league per PFF before his injury

I’m not anti-LSU, in fact there are former LSU in the NFL I really like (Devin White, Jarvis Landry, and Andrew Whitworth). I don’t however like the dumbassery from the fan base when they will excuse and defend and knight former players against any and all criticism in the face of reality. No other fanbase does this and they have the audacity to try to talk shite to other fanbases on here about their busts when those fans aren’t overhyping or excusing their former players.
