I'm kind of enjoying it now. Buying books you just know will be destined for the burn pile, stockpiling supplies in an innocuous place, helping my extended family who live outside the USA stockpile land and property just in case me or my kids need to come calling someday.
It's like a story where the heroes know something really bad is coming and can't stop it - all they can do is prepare for the inevitable.
