Unfortunately, College Football is forever changed. The top talents don't truly care which uniform they wear. They will go to the place that gives them the best opportunity to get to the next level. That's it. End of story. With NIL, transfer portals and opt outs, the players can just go where they want, get paid and move on. It's going to look more like basketball where you might get two years out of your top talent before they are gone. There will be those that come and play because they want to be here and believe in foundational values like commitment, loyalty, honor, character. The rest are just in it for the money and fame. This is not a comment on whether or not they deserve it or worked hard to get where they are. It just is what it is. Within this is the disconnect between players and fans. As fans we have a deep rooted loyalty and love of our University and our teams. Some of these players, not all, do not have that same connection. What's in it for me? We get frustrated because they don't have the same commitment that we do or that we want them to have.

It's frustrating but you're going to have to just settle in and enjoy what you've got while you've got it because it's not going to last long. A good life lesson.

I just can't imagine the challenge of being a head coach in this day. A constant revolving door of coaches and players. You're essentially rebuilding, reshuffling, and adjusting constantly. At least every couple of years. The landscape is constantly in motion.

To address this you absolutely must continue to stock the program with the best players and best coaches in the country. You can't afford a drop off in production because tomorrow the names will definitely be different. You must be able to pull the next one off the shelf and put them on the field. One Stingley should not make or break a defense. You need several.
