But only you have the top secret info?

Can you not read? Where did I say anything about myself having any top secret info? I said teams share information to other organizations whether they are in National or Blesto unlike the the common conception of many who follow the draft process. Each team uses at least one scout to provide information for the rest of the organization. The information is shared & if KC got wind the Saints were all in on Mahomes, it's why they jumped them. KC has admitted knowing this which is why they traded up to begin with.

Have you ever wondered how the NFL scouts are able to go to every NCAA school and watch film?  Well they cannot do it all alone, so many NFL teams hire scouting services to assist them with their process.  There are two major scouting services that NFL teams use including National and Blesto.

quote:

There are twelve teams in BLESTO (ATL, BUF, CHI, CLE, DAL, DET, HOU, JAC, MIA, MIN, NYG, PIT).

There are fifteen subscribers to the National (AZ, CAR, CIN, DEN, GB, KC, NO, NYJ, PHI, STL, SD, SF, SEA, TB, TEN). National Scouting also is the logistical organizer of record for the event in Indianapolis.

Five teams out of the thirty-two NFL teams are unaffiliated with either scouting combine organization: Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins.

Membership responsibilities includes over $100,000 in annual dues and the assignment of at least one scout to the group. So basically there is a scout from each team listed above that is on the board to help assist with scouting. They make a list of players and rank them. National and Blesto have a different style of grading. As scouts evaluate the current class of seniors visiting schools’ pro days, they often work out underclassmen for future draft years.

This data and other information is presented at meetings (usually in Florida) about two weeks after the current draft.

The National and Blesto reports are published from these meetings. These reports serve as a both starting point for the lengthy evaluation process and also a rough guide as to where players are regarded by the group.

Then NFL scouts will re-evaluate the players and talent and make their own assessment.

Sean Payton should have traded up to insure he got him.

I have no argument here. Payton should have convinced Ryan Pace GM of the Bears & former Saints personnel scout, director of personnel scouting & director of player player personnel to do a trade. Maybe then Pace doesn't draft shitty arse Mitchell Trubisky.

But he sat there and let KC trade up and take his guy.

If KC knew about us, how come we didn’t know about them?

1. Maybe because maybe Buffalo & KC did a great job of of concealing the potential trade.

2. KC has admitted they didn't even reach out to Buffalo until Mahomes slid & they knew the Saints would take him at 11. So I can see Payton's perspective to where he assumed his guy was going to fall to him without giving up future draft collateral.

You are not listening here. Buffalo had Lattimore & Tre White rated extremely close. What made the trade so sweet for Buffalo is that they could gain draft collateral, move back to pick 27 & draft a corner they felt was a top 10 talent in Tre White. It was a win/win for Buffalo.

Big Brod

I have more respect for you than just about anybody on this or any board.

However
This is exactly Sean Payton’s whiff.

“He assumed his guy was going to fall to him”

Go get him!

Just like he went after other players.

He lost Patrick Mahommes because of his genius calculations.

I repeat

I respect you and your knowledge more than most on this or any board.

You obviously are very knowledgeable and do your homework.

Ok

Why?

Couldn’t the Saints make a much better deal, being the very next pick?

Ok

How could we have not given Buffalo a much better deal than KC

If we traded positions and given them draft picks.
