Not that it will happen but....

with USC and Oklahoma ranked 1 and 2 if the winner of the SEC goes undefeated along with those 2 who ends up 1 and 2. In my opinion it would have to be Oklahoma and the sec team based on the strength of conference but would the media really keep an undefeated USC out of the NCG...or an undefeated SEC team again? and if not Oklahoma would be getting screwed with how good the big 12 is and having to play a championship game.

No question about it...USC v. LSU

OU gets left out. there is no way an undeafted USC will be left out. LSU vs. USC is the game everyone wanted to see for years.

If it finished like this
1 USC (undefeated)
2 Oklahoma (undefeated)
3 LSU (undefeated)
My guess is that it would be USC vs LSU. Mainly because (1) Oklahoma has been embarassed in recent BCS bowls, (2) the Media still wants to see an USC vs LSU game, (3) can you really deny a defending national champion a chance to repeat if they go undefeated?

and it looks like LSU may have to beat 4 top ten teams to get there and one of them twice to win the SEC

You all have a patent misunderstanding of the BCS.
The game would be LSU-OU.
The BCS was DESIGNED to thwart the efforts of the media to "choose" a champion and force some real non-biased strength of schedule factor into determining the champion.
If it finished 1,2,3 all undefeated, we'd have 2003 all over again, but without the uncertainty Kansas threw into the mix. There would be no "split" championship again.

Probably not. SC would be 1 in both polls, which now makes up 2/3 of the formula and would probably be 3 in the computers, which wouldn't be enough to balance out the human polls. It would depend on where the voters put LSU and OU.

0-4 since 2004, with beat downs in 2 of those. Average margin of defeat: 16pts.

I don't want to play USC this year. I would have liked to have played them in 03, 05, 06 and 07 but not this year.

i don't think that the voters can justify LSU jumping Oklahoma if all three are undefeated but the computers should have LSU #1 Oklahoma #2 and USC #3 in this scenario which would leave LSU out since the computers are only 1/3 of the formula. If the BCS leaves the defending champions out and deny the public of the LSU/USC matchup everyone wants to see this will be the end of the BCS once and for all.

a more likely scenerio is an undefeated USC and 2 one loss team... OU/Mizzou and an SEC team. In which case it has to be SEC v USC

could be wrong, just seems like a more possible outcome... we all know USC has that killer schedule to fight through.

BINGO!!!!! In the unrealistic (but possible) scenario mentioned here I think USC gets left out. And I think their downfall will be last weekend's results in which the PAC-10 took it on the chin royally. IMO, that weekend alone will be enough to devastate USC's strength of schedule and, consequently, their computer rankings. Especially if the other 2 choices are an undefeated SEC and BIG-12 teams because both conferences have really shown well out of conference thus far this season. My take is that in this scenario the championship game would be between the BIG-12 champ and the SEC champ.

1/3 Harris 1.USC 2.Oklahoma 3.LSU
1/3 Coaches 1.USC 2.Oklahoma 3.LSU
1/3 Computer 1.LSU 2.Oklahoma 3.USC
how does this leave USC out? If you take the averages LSU gets left out.

You are assuming that USC would be ranked 3 by the computers if they finish undefeated. That is not necessarily the case should someone else also finish undefeated like BYU, Utah, ACC champ, Big East Champ, Mountain West Champ. I know this is unlikely but not impossible. And I'm telling you that should that happen then last week's PAC-10 debacle could cost USC. Remember that computers don't care how glitzy you look, how big a market you are from, who your coach is, past history, or anything besides the teams' results this year and their opponents results.
