Here’s the plan

Build points now. You can still buy Wyoming points right now.
The first trip should be DIY antelope. Camp out and see how your gear works out. You’ll also see how your shooting is. If you like antelope, do all the rest.

I got into the points game years ago and have had fun.
Two DIY antelope for me and two for my son. Two DIY mule deer.
Guided bighorn ram, bull elk, and Muley.

Going with son and his buddy on easy to draw first season Colorado rifle elk soon.
Sitting on 10+ elk points for Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. Those hunts will all be DIY.

If you’re serious about elk, get in the best shape of your life. The physical and mental challenge is real.

What is your plan for Colorado with 10 points? Seems like you either burn them around 5-6 points on a decent unit or wait until 20+. Not much in between.

I damn sure wish I was still built like 18 year old downshift. Its a real asswhipping stomping the mountains. 3 miles of those yellow/red trails is brutal. Get off the trails and frickkkkkkkkkk it sucks.
