Would either one of these help muscle pain the hip?
Bursitis?
Spent about 6 weeks dealing with this. Couldn't climb stairs, trouble walking and pain making it difficult to sleep. Eating aspirin and tylenol like candy.
Had a yearly physical scheduled and told the doc about it. Doc is an ex-jock and showed me how to stretch the IT band. Had me cussing up a storm on the exam table. He said PT is the only way. He deals with it himself.
Said he is not real keen on the aspirin/Tylenol because of liver and stomach lining issues (Internal medicine doc) and try to limit them as much as you can stand, do the stretches 4x daily and alternate at night between IcyHot and Voltaren gel.
Gave me a steroid shot which helped after a few days, but those are not given frequently.
Look up IT band syndrome on the internet to learn the stretches. Hurts like hell, but you gotta do what ya gotta do.
He also told me that I was probably firing too much on my right side during my golf swing.
