In recent months it seems that NOLA had plenty of ICU beds per the LDH chart .. is it far from this guys hometown? Sure. Is it a bed? Very likely.

How about they "blame" the nurse/staffing shortage?

Do I worry about my dad, who has 2 working arteries, not having a bed should he need it for a cardiac emergency? Sure but I'm not going to blame people who choose what they feel is right for them. I'm going to blame hospitals for treating staff like shite.

Full icus have happened before covid and will continue to happen.

Still sorry for the loss for that family.

in random, isolated events, sure. or for acute seasons of disease (like the flu), sure.

but this is a long-term event that is in no way random. that argument is gone now, too.
