It should be obvious by now the difference between the two players. Max needed 9 turnovers, defensive scores, a shoe throw, a record long FG in thick fog and a solid running game to get those 2 wins that everybody gave him the sole credit for.
He didn't get sole credit. But you're acting like he did nothing to contribute in a major way to those wins. In his first two starts, without LSU's top two receiving threats and top two RBs, Max Johnson threw for 675 yards, ran for almost another 100, accounted for 8 TDs to 1 Int., outplayed Heisman candidate Kyle Trask on the road in The Swamp, and generally did a great job in helping LSU win 2 games that 90% of people thought we'd lose. I think Brennan played tough and has a much better downfield arm at this point. But he also had all of LSU's best skill players playing when he was starting. You failed to mention that.
I do feel like Max (as well as almost the whole offense) looks worse than last year. But I'm not going to act like he didn't play very well at the end of last year with most of LSU's top skill players out.

What’s predictable is the completely one sided context and straw men you guys constantly use to skirt the facts. Also claiming that he outplayed Trask, who threw for double the yardage Max did, while ignoring the turnovers our “Defense” created which led to 21 points just proves my original statement. Playing the omissive context game just opens the door for nothing but bias. If you can’t point to equal standards of measurement you can’t be objective.
