Yellow flags today. I was fishing the ditch between shore and sandbar. Double rig, i tried orange bite on one hook and sandflea flavor on the other. Had three solid hits but no hook set. The orange is all tore up, the flea flavor doesn't look touched. Downsizing hook tomorrow to a #8 j hook and might trim the bait thinner.

Use a circle hook, that’s probably why you didn’t hook up on those other bites.

Looks like a nice day of fishing anyway.

Don’t go to a J hook. They do sell smaller circle hook pomp rigs. I also like using the small wide gap hooks on rigs. Sometimes you have to stick and move down the beach. Sometimes just moving a 100 yards is all the difference. What size weight are you using? I go with at least a 2oz and sometimes 3oz pyramid weight.
