We went here in 2020 when Florida didn't want anyone from Louisiana. I honestly loved it. The water was clear, the reason it doesn't look like Destin is the color of the sand. My favorite part is the fact you can just drive onto the beach. No lugging the cooler/tent/extra crap half a mile through deep sand. It's honestly vastly underrated, which is fine with me. We will definitely keep going back.

Went there all the time as a kid in the early 1960s, we loved it. My dad built a canopy that attached to the side of the family station wagon so we had shade while parked on the beach, those fold out beach canopies had not been invented yet.
