Who else has a PS3 that they've never used to play games?

I have one that I use exclusively as a upscale DVD/ Blu-Ray player, and can honestly say it's a virgin when it comes to game discs. I use my 360 for gaming. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

That is a waste. You are not getting your full moneys worth.

Well I figured that if I was going to drop $400 on a Blu Ray player anyway, might as well get one that has updatable firmware and plays games for the same price. Just haven't seen any must play games come out for it yet. Maybe GT5, when the full version comes out. (And don't say MGS4, I hate the MGS series...well I hated the first one's mechanics, and have never played any since).

Plus, I got the PS3 for real cheap in a package deal with a 40" Samsung LCD and a Tivo HD.

Exactly. If you're really hard up on getting a Blu Ray player the PS3 is the overall cheapest way to go and you get more with it. Still that shite is over priced. I am waiting until it comes down into the $200 or so range which will be in a few years the way it's going.

You can get a blue ray drive for your computer for 100 dollars.. And run an HDMI cable from your video card to your TV. That seems to be the cheapest option to me.

You're cheating yourself on MGS lol.

Mechanics on PS1 = NOTHING like MG4 lol

I know it is a pretty good deal just for the Blu Ray Player, but youre missing out on so much by not playing the games, or using PS Network.

The PS3 has a GREAT online system. It is completely free (no sign up charges, no monthly charges); you can log online within 20 minutes of unpacking your PS3 from the box (assuming you have an internet connection).

You can log into the PS3 Network and download demos of lots and lots of games. So you havent seen any "must haves" but if you played some demos, you may not think so. It is free to get online, and download the demos. You can also download older games for like $10 (if your PS3 is not PS2 compatible), or download other games just available on the Network, mostly around $5.

And finally, the Metal Gear Solid poster is BADLY BADLY mistaken. This has got to be the best series on any console, EVER. It is like a movie series both in storytelling and visuals. Bar none, the best.

I have a PS3, but I have played games on it. If your a baseball game fan you can't help but play MLB08 The Show. The best baseball game made to date. Metal Gear Solid and Resistance is good. I did pre-order SOCOM. All other games I play is on my XBOX.
