If you are on Verizon and have a 5G capable phone its best to go to your settings and change the cellular voice and data to LTE unless you live in a major city.
This was recommended to me by a friend who is a network engineer with Verizon. I have a iphone 12 max. I was having issues with drop calls etc. Once I changed the setting it got better.
