I'm going back to my house tomorrow as the electricity is working.

Are grocery stores open? If so, are there long lines to get in?

Went to Winn Dixie on Veterans yesterday and the lines weren’t too bad.
Rouses on Power had not much lines at all.
Pretty much all of the grocery stores are open.

Go on your way in. A lot of stores are closing early or have limited hours. I know Langensteins and Cansecos have been open.

Langenstein's on Met. Road is supposed to be open with limited supplies. It's been my go to in Uptown.

Langenstein’s on Metairie Rd. closes at about 2 or 3 each day. My wife (no pics) went to Csseco’s at about 5 today and she was the last person they allowed in. Rouses on Airline was closed when I drove by after work at 5:30. So like others have said, get a couple of foam ice chests and stock up on staples wherever you are.

This! Went yesterday and the place is fully stocked. Meat, milk, etc. We loaded up the freezers and everyone working there was friendly.

Definitely stock up and bring stuff from where you are. The grocery stores are open but will probably take a week or two before stock is back to normal levels.

Every day thousands and thousands of people are regaining power and restocking their pantries/fridges. Add in that hardly any restaurants are open and the demand for groceries is super high right now.

You aren’t fricked if you are trying to get groceries here, but you’ll be thanking yourself if you do your shopping before you come back if possible.
