Was 2019 really the last hurrah? The end of LSU and college football as we know it

Maybe this is a raw emotional hot take, but it certainly feels like everything has changed and imo not for the better.
Obviously the team being terrible isn’t helping but it’s more than that.
Transfer portal, NIL, players having zero school spirit or loyalty, the misinformed claims that everything is racist, opting out, conference realignment, the same 4-5 teams being the only legit contenders, every year, the corporate take over of every aspect of the game day experience, piped in music, indifference from the students, millennials who watch games in their phones, and on and on.
For anyone over 30, I doubt they like these changes.
Every generation thinks some things are worse and I guess I’m just another old guy yelling at a cloud but it sure seems the golden days are over.

College football hasn’t ended for Bama, and UCLA is loving it.

Prob
Couldn’t have ended any better though

The bottom line is that if we had won by 30 yesterday, you wouldn’t have made this post.
Yes the sport is changing rapidly, and there’s a lot not to like there, but it’s only existentially bad when your team isn’t performing.

Bama does not seem to have any difficulty to changes. They are run like a machine

Winning would cure a lot but the declining attendance across the country sure feels like the sport has peaked

Remove yourself from Ed O’s horror show and take a peak at the UGA/Clemson game. Then tell me CFB is dead.

Not dead…dying.
It’s not going to happen overnight but I think it ends up being more like baseball where it’s really popular in a few cities but nationally not as important.

It has been declining and dying for quite some time. You only have 4 or 5 yearly strong programs. Other programs need to make some changes to challenge

I really think college football would be better off if the lower division teams split off and had their own separate playoffs.

And no one else is, nor ever will be, Nick saban.

Dumb question. If we won, you wouldn’t question. Typical tiger fan.

Oh definitely! I agree with that.
