Orgeron was who we thought he was.

It brings me no joy saying that but if you harvested post hire threads/posts they would have predicted all of this.

No consistency because he’s completely reliant on coordinators. Doesn’t have a real idea of a philosophy he wants.

The only positives were recruiting and cheap.

He’s no longer cheap.

Can anyone enumerate exactly what Ed brings to the overall X&O philosophy/development. Maybe he does, but if so, it is ineffective. Maybe he cannot make a hire because the coaching world views him as a joke. I do not think he is a head coach let alone one who could sustain success at a top-flight program which LSU used to be.

I think the cost of cutting him at the latest at season's end would be less expensive/damaging to the program than allowing him to flounder for another year. It is clear he is in way over his head.

Losses to Ole Miss, TAMU, Gumpland, UF, MSU and Auburn seem very plausible. This team is confused and has no heart which is 100% on the HC.

I actually don't have a problem with that strategy, but

1.) You don't pay your HC what Orgeron is getting paid
2.) You don't hire coordinators with the experience of Jake Peetz. You hire Bill fricking O'Brian.
