I got through and explained that I applied last week but my miscellaneous is still showing as pending, the very annoyed lady said it's because of how I answered the questions...she said the computer automatically accepts or denies your application. I again told her mine was neither, it's pending...so she pulled it up and said it's not showing her anything either. She asked what parish I lived in and I told her EBR...she said anybody in EBR parish has to go through an inspection before they qualify for the $500.

I personally don't think she knows anything about it, but that was my convo with her.

Oh, I asked where we're supposed to submit the generator receipt and she said to just upload a hand written note with receipt...to where? I still never got a clear answer.

I was able to upload the receipt. It’s hidden. You have to click the tab at the top and find the upload option, then look for miscellaneous receipt. I don’t know if it will get approved, but I was able to upload the receipt that way.

EDIT: click on the “sissy” (tm)COACH O blue “status” carrot. The upload portion is located there.

I just spoke with a lady about the pending Miscellaneous and she said I needed to submit a denied insurance claim in order for the pending status to change. I told her I had no home damage so I wouldn't be submitting an insurance claim. She said that I had to do that in order to gain any type of FEMA assistance. Judging by your post, and my experience, these people don't know wtf they are talking about it appears. I've decided it isn't worth the hassle so I'm just going to abandon my claim.
