It is one of the most profound strategic geo-political defeats of a major Western power in all of human history, that is true. This defeat is even worse than Vietnam.
I never in my life thought that the USA could top the defeat in Vietnam, but, here we are.

There was such a malaise over the nation. It didn't really leave us until Reagan.
Now with the Afghanistan failure I don't know where this country is headed unless we get another president like Reagan to bring us back to where we were before Biden.
