While they didn't sing it, I was completely blown away several years ago when I learned that the Bee Gees wrote the Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton sung hit Islands In the Stream. It makes sense now given how prolific of songwriters they were, but I always equated them with disco up until around that time.


As for an answer to the actual question, for years I thought Badfinger's Day By Day was The Beatles.

Yes they sang it. It's in their "Number Ones" album and they also recorded it on the "One Night Only" LV concert back in '97 (it's in YT). And actually, their version is better than Dolly & Kenny's.

And taking into account the hundreds of songs they wrote, disco was the least they did (4 songs I think).
