No because as usual the state can't get their shite together. We're being boatraced by MS and Arkansas.

When the casino lobbyists start getting called out. Right now LA pols r kicking the can down the rd as long as possible. Probably because theyre getting special kickbacks from lobbyists.

I’d say around the beginning of next year.

This is the latest I found last week. The former Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chairman said it probably won’t be allowed until bowl season. Very typical of Louisiana. It’s not like everyone knew this was coming for years or anything

People vote and the people’s will gets ignored,
Look at sports betting and look at St. George.

L’auberge already working on one. Supposedly, sponsored by Barstool sports, though I’m not sure what that has to do with anything. Don’t remember hearing a date of expected completion but you can probably google

I heard from about as reliable of a source as you can and was told they’re shooting for November under licenses that are”temporary” in terms of setup/location if I understood right. Then next year it’s full go no temp licenses

The L’Auberge is owned by Penn National gaming, which also has a stake in Barstool Sports. That’s the reason why they are going with Barstool sports book

Update from today’s Louisiana Gaming Control Board meeting

Louisiana's Gaming Control Board approved emergency rules Thursday to expedite the arrival of sports betting. New Chairman Ronnie Johns, a former state senator from Lake Charles, told USA Today Network he believes sports betting could go live sometime during the upcoming football season through the state's 20 riverboat and land-based casinos and racetracks. "This has been the No. 1 question asked of me: When is sports betting coming?" Johns said. "We are behind our neighbor in Mississippi, but we're going to try to catch up quickly." Johns, a Republican who was appointed by Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards in July, previously predicted the arrival of sports betting might be as late as early 2022. "I don't think any of us had an inkling when we left (the Legislative Session in June) that the emergency rules could be put in place this fast," said Johns, who praised the state police and attorney general for expediting the rule making. Voters in 55 of 64 parishes approved legalizing sports betting in their communities last fall, but lawmakers had to set up the framework to regulate and tax sports wagers before it could be implemented, which they did during the Legislative Session. Components will include Las Vegas style sports books at the state's casinos and racetracks, mobile Internet betting through smartphones and other devices and retail wagering kiosks at restaurants and bars. Twenty sports book licenses are available for existing casinos and racetracks. Each of those licenses will include two "skins," which will be used to contract with mobile application providers. Retail betting kiosks at restaurants and bars will likely lag the casino and racetrack action. Sports betting will still be prohibited in Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, Jackson, LaSalle, Sabine, Union, West Carroll and Winn, the parishes where voters rejected the gaming expansion. Technology called geofencing will prevent residents in those parishes from accessing mobile sports betting applications. The emergency rules are in place for 180 days. Representatives from the attorney general's office said they planned to promulgate permanent rules before the 180 days expire.
