That's a good call.

Yep, definitely looks like a bun, but the neck and shoulders are pretty thick for Galadriel (or any female). Maybe it's not a hair bun, but instead the back of some crown or similar headpiece, holding the hair back up. Feanor wore the Silmarils on his brow; that could be the band he wore them on.

I get the sense that it's someone we need to understand, to create the story.
If we're showing the Trees and Feanor, even in passing, that explains the Elves and their conflict with Sauron (which was a carryover from their conflict with Morgoth). Also sets the table for explaining why Galadriel is so much more powerful than the other Elves (she's the only one left that has looked upon the Trees). Celeborn, Thranduil, Elrond- came afterwards. The rest are dead except Glorfindel, and he's been written out of the films.
I don't remember if Cirdan actually saw the Trees, or just was close by- I think he was Teleri, and I thought they never went into Valinor proper (outside of Elwe). Only the Noldor and Vanyar went that far West, and only the Noldor returned to Middle Earth.
Although, wasn't Galadriel part Vanyar- making her "more beautiful"?

I know I'm nerding out, but I really love Tolkien's works. No matter what, I don't think this will meet my hopes, but it's good to see they are at least trying to incorporate more of the mythos than even the films did. Certainly more than the Hobbit trilogy did.
