I take it you're not familiar with ICU Medicine?

Are you under the impression the 1,367 vents would be deployed to regular ward rooms?

No... but I'm under the impression that the government pushed manufacturing new vents last summer, and now we have a huge supply of them. Way more than needed. And we have way more than people in ICU beds who need them. Because, most ICU beds are not COVID patients.

So we're in the middle of a pandemic.
Hospital Administrators have had a year and a half to run contingencies.
Yet our ICUs are clogged with non-COVID patients.
Does that not seem odd to you?

Does it not seem odd that after a year or more, facilities do not yet have step-down ICU contingencies for non-vent-dependent patients to open ICU slots?

Does it not seem odd that someone apparently purchased $40-$50Million in unnecessary ventilators?

To me those seem like examples of management ineptitude bordering on total incompetency.
