Charges are possible? Dude hit 3 kids and two had to be airlifted. He fled the scene and was found at his house in Lafayette 3 hrs later.. Why are charges "possible"?

The article quotes him as saying he “rendered help and then left.” If true, he may not actually be guilty of hit and run.

It’s also possible that he had been drinking and tried to haul arse out of there before the water cops showed up. But there’s no way to know that with the information in the article.

Dude knew exactly what he was doing
That’s why he hauled arse

And furthermore how the F do you hit some kids on a tube?

We go to the lake damn near every weekend and do the same shite and I’ve never come close to hitting anyone with my party barge

Look, he was driving a vessel that injured a minor so seriously that he needed to be airlifted to a trauma center.

It is 100% hit and run if he did not stay around to provide a statement to authorities. As a captain of a vessel on LA waterways, if there is an injury incident, he is responsible to provide information to authorities. As an Assistant DA, he can not claim "I didn't know better."

I think "possible" is the least necessary word used in this thread.

True. We don't have a blood test. We don't have a field sobriety test. Why is that? Because the dirtbag evaded police by leaving the scene of an injury incident. Kid needs to be airlifted and you haul arse to your house? Yeah, you are purposely evading police, and that is called "Hit and Run".

frick that dude.
