Because vaccines aren't perfect and viruses still spread. If vaccines were 100% effective, I'd have no problem with it but the data suggests that while very effective, vaccines aren't perfect.
Obama may be a private citizen but it's not good optics for a past president to hold a densely packed party when there's a delta variant spreading around. That's why I'm not a fan of this - it doesn't look good politically for a previous president to do this.
And they weren't all masked. The photos make that clear.
