The handful of people that actually voted for him should be hanged.

Hanging people for expressing their democratic right.

That's cool comrade

Not even the people who you believe caused the fraud but ordinary voters.

Totally cool comrade. That's a unique take.
First of all, I think media can have a bias if they want.

If Fox News can exist and all those right-wing networks, certain aspects of the media can be left-wing if they want.

Private media companies can have a bias in either direction. I may not like right-wing media like Fox News and OANN but I respect their right to exist.

Really, where did you hear about this… how old are you? Just curious.

I saw it on Reddit on some football subreddit. They weren't exactly complimentary of the politics board.

Early 20s.
quote:

I bet you think it was a free and fair election too don't you?

I do.

You've (by you, I mean everyone alleging voter fraud) not been able to produce evidence otherwise and I've been waiting for the past 6 months. The courts have all rejected these claims so I'm dubious (I'm not a lawyer but even I can see that nobody is putting any weight behind these allegations).

Ok, maybe for some people I don't know. But, maybe i'm just old? I knew Trump as a businessman waaaaaay before the TV show. In fact, and you probably won't believe this, but I never watched that show one time.

I mean Trump was known as a businessman in the 1980s. But since then, he's been more known as a reality star who was a businessman than a businessman who's a reality star.

I'm probably much younger than the average TigerDroppings user but I only knew Trump because of the TV show. It raised his profile considerably - there's a quote by Trump saying exactly this about the publicity and name recognition the show gave him.

quote:

Point is, I don't think people said, "ooh that's the dude from TV, let's vote for him"

That may be so but it doesn't change the fact that he IS a reality TV star. You can't say you don't respect influencers yet vote for a reality TV star who's a businessman. My point is, it still doesn't change the fact that he is a reality TV star.

quote:

I don't believe he got the votes that they claimed he did, but I know he did get millions legitimately. That astounds me that millions of my fellow Americans voted for the dementia patient.

Can you imagine how bad his opponent must have been then?

All the Republicans had to do was nominate someone normal and they'd have won in 2016 and 2020 by landslide proportions.

Trump scraped by in 2016 against Hilary Clinton (a woman who was despised by Americans across the political spectrum) and he lost in 2020 against Biden (a man who's no longer in his prime).

Don't blame the electorate, blame the candidate who couldn't convince them.

Muh stolen election...

It's never going to get old.

Eh...that's a bit like saying we all like Michael Jordan cause he was a minor league baseball player.

No, it's like saying you hate basketball players and will never respect them yet voting a basketball player into office. You may not have voted him in because he's a basketball player but it becomes hard to take your criticisms of basketball players seriously.

quote:

You voted for Joe Freaking Biden. Let that sink in.

Oh baby, it sunk in on inauguration day.

Can you imagine how bad his opponent must have been for me to have voted for Biden?

Do you hear yourselves?

You guys voted for a reality TV star who was obsessed with social media. It's a bit rich coming from you guys about influencers.

I don't like influencers nor do I use Tik Tok or Instagram but it's hilarious coming from you guys. :banghead:
quote:

It’s one of the fundamental flaws of the “Trump shouldn’t run again” argument.

That's nonsense though.

Trump gave ammunition to those 'that guy is really like Hitler' accusations.

Mitt Romney didn't. Mitt Romney won college-educated white voters by over 14 points while Trump lost them by over 17 points in 2016 and 15 points in 2020.

That's a swing of nearly 30 points in 4 years, which means he did something that turned off white college-educated voters so much that they voted for a party that they don't usually vote for.

White college-educated voters have always voted for the Republican candidate but it took Trump for them to start voting for Democrats.

So clearly, previous accusations against Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates didn't work. They didn't give ammunition to the accusations. Most people saw Mitt Romney as a sane guy even if they might not have voted for him.

Vaccination appears to be working at reducing hospitalisations while less effective at reducing the transmissions. In any case, it still shows that the number of deaths is far lower than it would be if older people were unvaccinated.
quote:

OK, that means you and Obama were total failures on this issue for 8 years.

As far as I remember, Democrats didn't control the senate beyond 2010.

Not much policy they could advance on anything.

I can't even

I mean considering you're 82, maybe if they put something in black and white, maybe that would appeal to you?

What do 82-year-olds even do for entertainment? Get frisky at the nursing home?
quote:

“These are all COVID patients. Health conditions vary among our hospitalized patients. Some had underlying conditions though many had no health issues before this virus. “

But no issues means they could still be fat beasts of nature. It's just no-one will go out and say that obesity is a condition.
quote:

There’s lots of people who end up in our healthcare system because of poor choices. It’s almost what our healthcare system is built on.

I'll say the same thing I said to smokers with lung cancer and anyone else whose hospitalized by their own actions/lack of precaution.

quote:

Because they don't need to be vaccinated unless their parents choose to get them the vaccine (under 18) or they choose themselves (over 18)

For sure, which is why it's being emphasized to them that they're not getting vaccinated just for them but for others.

I'm a young guy in my early 20s. I'm not going to need the vaccine to protect myself, I got vaccinated to protect others. That's the same for most young people I know who got vaccinated. I've never been in danger of the pandemic but I recognize we all get old some time and I'd like young people then to do the same for me.

I have teenage girls in my house. They don't sit around watching drag Tik Tok videos. They think that dude is a weirdo.

Well, clearly someone does.

I'm not a teenager anymore but clearly Tik Tok videos have some appeal (otherwise nobody would be watching them). I know a few friends who would watch Tik Tok videos so clearly, someone is going around watching these drag Tik Tok videos.

To be fair, I've got no clue about who this guy is but that Rodrigo girl definitely has a large viewership.

edit: I was mistaken. I though he was someone else. I don't think he's a Tik Tok influencer actually now that I think about it. Got no clue who this guy is. That Rodrigo girl definitely is though and she had appeal to a lot of people.
