I mean look at his first 2 games as a starter:
15/35 134 yards 1 int 0 td -- vs Va Tech
8/18 90 yards 1 int 0 td -- vs The Citadel

Mauck looked like Payton Manning as far as talent compaired to these 2 Qb's.
I think I would take every other QB in the SEC over ours including Miss St.

Mauck was pushing 40 years old dumb arse. He was very mature. Flynn was very mature, he was a 5th year senior. We have a RS Frosh and a RS Soph. You can't expect them to be world beaters just yet. Cool your ranter arse down for just a bit. Who knows what we could be saying at this time next week.

the post point, i think, was comparing the HORENDOUS display in blacksburg and at home to a shitty team with the first two games this year

Who is this Mauck you speak of.

wow...
you are harsh.
hatch is a gamer IMO and will be fine as the season rolls.
the defense will keep us in games.

Quite possibly the most overrated QB in LSU history.

Mauck's first start at VT is what scares me about Hatch at Auburn.

You can't be expecting any of our players to kick a pass in the air for an INT like Shyrone Carey did that game. So at least that is one positive Hatch will have over that game

"Mauck looked like Payton Manning"
I am very sure you felt this way after his first two games.
I mean, he completed 43% of his passes with a 4.2 ypa average. Couple that with the 0:2 Td:int ratio, and it screams Peyton Manning.

disagree, not b/c I think he's good. b/c Saban knew when he came in here, he was in trouble with the QB's he had. He also knew he had a good OLine, good WR's and a deep stable of RB's (sound familiar). So he brough in a guy who he believed could handle an offense. All he did was do what was asked of him. Did he make mistakes, sure he did, but so does Peyton Manning.

That is sheer and utter stupidity. Mauck and Flynn both looked like shite when they first started. For that matter, Jamarcus made a ton of mistakes when he first started. These guys are what we've got so you may as well get off their case and hope and pray the improve like the QB's who have come before them. I think they will.

Yes he does. That still doesn't mean he's a great QB. Is Trent Dilfer considered a great NFL QB? QB was the weakest position on the 03 team. Was he serviceable? Yes. Did he run the offense well enough for us to win games? Yes. Was he a great QB? No.
Thing is, in college FB you don't have to have a great QB to win. LSU and Auburn are both ranked in the top 10, and no one would say that their starting QBs are great.

Ok if you people love Hatch so much tell me where would you rate him in the SEC now? Then tell me where do you think he will rate at the end of the season?
Miss St. Qb is the only one in the SEC that would have to battle for the starting QB job at LSU this year. Everyone else would be the starter since Spring.
